Erie softball almost played the role of spoiler on Thursday afternoon in game one of their double header at Niagara County Community College. The Kats dropped a tight 2-1 decision. The Kats out hit the Wolves 8-2 stranding five runners along the way. Sam Heppel and Emily Belile each had two hits with Heppel and Alyssa Kilonski hitting doubles in the contest. Samantha Wing, Julia Kilonski and Kate Poitras also added hits. Heppel dominated in the circle allowing only 1 earned run on 2 hits to go with 6 strikeouts.
In game 2 the Kats ran out of pitching and dropped a lopsided 20-0 game. Wing collected 2 hits for the Kats in game 2. Julia Kilonski, Belile and Maddie Frost also collected hits for Erie.
