Baseball splits with Tribunes

Niagara County Community College split a non-conference road doubleheader at NJCAA Div. II Monroe Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, moved to 19-3 overall. Next up is a road trek to Ithaca College at 3 p.m. Monday. 

Niagara CCC 7, Monroe CC 0

Freshman Brendan Morse struck out 12 and allowed just three hits in the complete-game shutout. Sophomore Nicholas Castellana was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and freshman Matthew Coon finished 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. 

Monroe CC 6, Niagara CCC 5

Sophomore Alex Minnehan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, but the T-Wolves surrendered two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Also for N-Trip, Castellana went 3-for-4 and freshman Matthew Procopio added two hits and an RBI.
