SUNY Niagara keeps on winning

SUNY Niagara ran its win streak to 14 games following a sweep of visiting Monroe Community College on Tuesday afternoon at Sal Maglie Stadium. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 7 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 24-6 overall. Next up is a home doubleheader vs. Region III Western Division opponent Onondaga Community College. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. Thursday. 

SUNY Niagara 11, Monroe CC 3

Sophomore Owen Silliman ripped a two-run home run and freshman Gavyn Boyle went 2-for-2 with two RBIs in the win. Sophomore Steven Merkel and freshman Nigel Sebastianelli were each 2-for-4 with two RBIs and sophomore Brett Johnson finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Freshman Sean Duffy picked up his second career win on the mound as he allowed just two earned runs and struck out four in six innings of work.

SUNY Niagara 10, Monroe CC 3

Boyle was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs and sophomore Joshua Milleville clubbed a three-run home run in the victory. Sebastianelli went 2-for-3 with an RBI and sophomore Nicholas Schulz added two RBIs. On the bump, freshman Aidan Paul gave up just one hit and no earned runs to pick up his second win of the year. He also had five Ks over six innings.
