SUNY Niagara stays hot with sweep of OCC

SUNY Niagara won its 12th consecutive game after a Region III sweep of host Onondaga Community College on Sunday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 22-6 overall and 8-0 in regional play. The T-Wolves return to the diamond at 2 p.m. Tuesday when conference-rival Monroe Community College visits Sal Maglie Stadium.

SUNY Niagara 7, Onondaga CC 1

Sophomore Joshua Milleville continued to dominate on the mound as he allowed just three hits and struck out seven to improve to 4-0 on the season. Classmate Owen Silliman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while sophomore Steven Merkel and freshman Nigel Sebastianelli each added two hits and an RBI. Sophomore Nicholas Schulz chipped in with an RBI triple.

SUNY Niagara 8, Onondaga CC 5

The Thunderwolves scored four runs over the final two frames to complete the comeback victory. Freshman Gavyn Boyle clubbed a grand slam, while freshman Braden Hill had two RBIs and Schulz ripped an RBI double. Freshman Mark Holm tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief to get the win, while classmate Aidan Paul threw the seventh to earn his first save of the year.
