T-Wolves puck flies past Golden Eagles

Niagara County Community College mustered 66 shots on its way to a commanding 9-3 UNYCHL Metro Division win over visiting SUNY Brockport on Friday night at Hyde Park. NCCC improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in divisional play.

Despite a first-period goal from Jason Kuchey, the Thunderwolves trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes. NCCC began the second period with a bang, though, netting four goals in 103 seconds. Spencer Hrynczak (short-handed), Chuckie Schmidl and Anthony Miller (two goals) were the N-Trip goal scorers in the frenzy.

The T-Wolves led 5-3 heading to the third period before Blake Dewey, Will Casullo and Hrynczak put the game out of reach. Miller, meanwhile, completed his hat trick with a breakaway goal in the waning seconds.

Phil Cerrillo made 25 saves to earn the win goal.

NCCC returns to the ice for a pair of road games on Nov. 18 and 19.
