Niagara County Community College raced out to a 17-point halftime lead on its way to an 84-67 Western New York Athletic Conference win on Wednesday night at Jamestown Community College.
The No. 4 Thunderwolves are 9-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. JCC, meanwhile, dropped to 5-8, 1-1.
NCCC sophomore Lamar Lovelace had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the way. Classmate Aaron Miller added 14 points and seven boards.
Also for N-Trip, freshman Fenley Jean-Baptiste finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks and first-year guard Oumaru Hydara chipped in with 10 points.
The sure-handed T-Wolves turned the ball over just six times and grabbed 19 offensive boards in the win. Jared Martin scored 16 points to lead the Jayhawks.
NCCC returns to action at 7 p.m. Saturday with its annual Thunderwolves Holiday Classic. NCCC will face No. 9 Macomb Community College.
