NCCC knocks off two ranked opponents over weekend

Niagara County Community College knocked off two nationally-ranked opponents at this past weekend's annual T-Wolves Holiday Classic. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 4 in the last NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 11-0 overall. NCCC returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when it travels to local conference rival Erie Community College. 

No. 4 Niagara CCC 62, No. 9 Macomb CC 54

NCCC sophomore Aaron Miller had his best outing of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Also for N-Trip, freshman Oumaru Hydara had 13 points, sophomore LaMarqus Merchant Jr. scored 11 points and classmate Lamar Lovelace chipped in with 10 points in the win.

No. 4 Niagara CCC 96, No. 12 Lakeland CC 81

Hydara came off the bench to contribute 18 points, five assists and four steals in the victory. Miller and Lovelace each netted 15 points, while Merchant had 13 points and five assists and sophomore Taylor Sanders added 12 points. The T-Wolves out-scored the visiting Lakers 59-39 after intermission.
