Softball sweeps past Timberwolves

Niagara County Community College made the long trek to SUNY Adirondack and came home with a pair of Region III victories this past Saturday. The Thunderwolves improved to 28-13 overall and 24-3 in regional play. Next up is a key doubleheader vs. Herkimer College. First pitch is set for Noon Sunday. 

Niagara CCC 17, SUNY Adirondack 1

NCCC freshman pitcher Leah Bailey tossed a one-hitter with eight strikeouts to improve to 16-2 on the year. At the plate, sophomore Maggiemay Murrins was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, classmate Shelby Wolf went 2-for-4 with a long ball, two RBIs and three runs scored and freshman Samantha Steindel finished 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Also for N-Trip, sophomore Mariah Semple went 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored and freshman Alexis Glemb was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Wolf went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, two RBIs and four runs scored in the run-rule win. Murrins was 2-for-3 with a home run, double, four RBIs and three runs scored, Steindel finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Semple added two hits and two runs scored. Freshman pitcher Emma Rozborski improved to 10-8 after racking up 10 Ks.
