Softball earns split with ranked Generals

Niagara County Community College split a Region III road doubleheader with nationally-ranked Herkimer College this past Sunday. The Thunderwolves finished the regular season at 29-14 overall and 25-4 in regional play. Next up is the Region III Division III North B District semifinals. The best-of-3 series will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at NCCC.

Herkimer College 7, Niagara CCC 0

NCCC mustered just two hits - singles from sophomore Maggiemay Murrins and freshman Alexis Glemb. Freshman Leah Bailey tossed a complete game and gave up just four earned runs.

Niagara CCC 13, Herkimer College 12

Sophomore Shelby Wolf was 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored as the T-Wolves held on for the win. Classmate Sydney Sexton was 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs, Murrins finished 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBis and sophomore Mariah Semple scored three times.
