Softball sweeps host Lazers

Niagara County Community College won a pair of pivotal Region III road tilts in the rain at Onondaga Community College this past Saturday. The Thunderwolves improved to 16-13 overall and 12-3 in regional play. Next up is a home twinbill vs. Tompkins-Cortland Community College. First pitch is at Noon Sunday. 

Niagara CCC 7, Onondaga CC 2

NCCC freshman pitcher Leah Bailey improved to 11-2 on the season after tossing a complete game. The righty allowed just one earned run and struck out six. Sophomore Shelby Wolf was 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the offense. Classmate Sydney Sexton added two hits and an RBI and sophomore Maggiemay Murrins chipped in with two RBIs.

Niagara CCC 8, Onondaga CC 5

N-Trip freshman right-hander Emma Rozborski recorded eight Ks in a complete-game effort. Murrins finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, while sophomores Mariah Semple and Mackenzie Gozdziak recorded two hits and two runs apiece. Wolf was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.
