Murrins named Catcher of the Year

Niagara County Community College sophomore catcher Maggiemay Murrins was named Diamond Sports / NFCA NJCAA Division III Catcher of the Year on Monday. Murrins also earned NFCA NJCAA Division III First Team All-American honors for the second consecutive season and was most recently named to the NJCAA Division III All-American First Team. She is the only player in school history to garner those honors. 

Murrins, who committed just two errors behind the plate all season, led the country in doubles (34) and extra-base hits (41). She also finished among the top seven nationally in the following offensive statistics: batting average (.603, 4th), hits (91, 3rd), RBIs (91, 2nd), runs (60, 7th), slugging percentage (.967, 6th) and total bases (146, 2nd).
