NCCC headed back to National Tourney

Niagara County Community College overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit on its way to a 64-60 win over host SUNY Sullivan in Saturday's NJCAA Division II East B District Championship. The Thunderwolves (28-3) have now won two consecutive District titles and clinched a berth in the NJCAA Division II Championship for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

NCCC freshman guard Faith Alessandra led the charge with 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Sophomore point guard Aichata Ballo had 12 points, nine boards and three steals and freshman wing Alita Carey-Santangelo added 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

The T-Wolves advance to the NJCAA Division II Championship, which is set for March 21-25 at St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, Michigan.
