Niagara County Community College held host Jamestown Community College to just 28 percent shooting in a 71-53 Western New York Athletic Conference victory on Wednesday night.
The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Jayhawks slipped to 4-7, 1-1.
NCCC sophomore Ashley Tucker had 18 points, five rebounds and four steals in the win. Freshman teammate Alita Carey-Santangelo added 11 points and 15 boards.
Also for N-Trip, freshman Faith Alessandra scored 10 points off the bench and sophomore Ashlynn Johnson pulled down 12 rebounds.
The T-Wolves notched 19 steals and held JCC without a 3-point field goal in the win. D'Auzhanay Harden had a game-high 25 points in defeat.
NCCC returns to the hardwood at 5 p.m. Saturday for the annual Thunderwolves Holiday Classic. The Thunderwolves will take on West Virginia University Potomac State College.
