T-Wolves finish season at NJCAA Championship

Niagara County Community College had its season come to a close after going 1-2 at this past week's NJCAA Division II Championship hosted by St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, Michigan. The Thunderwolves finished the year with an overall record of 29-5.

No. 6 Bryant & Stratton (WI) 56, No. 11 Niagara CCC 47

Despite forcing 32 turnovers and attempting 31 more field goals than their opponents, the T-Wolves could not overcome an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance in the opening round of the tournament.

Sophomore wing Ashlynn Johnson was lone NCCC player in double figures as she finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. N-Trip shot just 2-28 from the 3-point line in the loss.

Sophomore point guard Aichata Ballo put forth a performance for the ages, finishing with 31 points, eight rebounds, five steals, three assists and three blocks. It is the second straight year that the program won a game in the consolation bracket.

Johnson added 12 points, while freshman wing Alita Carey-Santangelo had 11 points, seven boards and five steals. N-Trip again forced 32 turnovers and overcame a 19-point second-quarter deficit.
