Niagara County Community College earned a pair of non-conference wins at this past weekend's annual T-Wolves Holiday Classic. The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 9-2 overall. Next up is a trip to local conference rival Erie Community College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Niagara CCC 73, WVU Potomac State College 59
NCCC sophomore point guard Aichata Ballo had 15 points and eight rebounds in the win. Also for N-Trip, sophomore Ashley Tucker notched 12 points and nine rebounds and freshman Faith Alessandra scored 11 points off the bench. Sophomore Ashlynn Johnson and freshman Alita Carey-Santangelo added 10 points and eight boards apiece in the win. The T-Wolves held a 57-35 edge on the glass.
Niagara CCC 69, Lakeland CC 39
Johnson had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the charge. Tucker added 12 points and six rebounds and Carey-Santangelo had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Alessandra contributed 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. NCCC held a 58-35 advantage on the boards.
