Gissendaner shines for NCCC

Niagara County Community College dropped a pair of non-conference duals this past weekend at SUNY Cortland. Despite the setbacks, sophomore Frankie Gissendaner continued his strong start to the season with two more wins.

Nassau CC 24, Niagara CCC 20

Gissendaner won by technical fall at 149 pounds, but the Thunderwolves narrowly lost to their district rival. Other winners via decision for NCCC included: Cole French (133), Justin McDougald (174) and Warren McDougald (184).

SUNY Cortland 43, Niagara CCC 6

The lone N-Trip points came from Gissendaner, who pinned his opponent in 90 seconds at 141 pounds. Gissendaner, an NJCAA All-American in 2020, is now 6-0 on the young season. 

The T-Wolves return to the mats at 5 p.m. Saturday for a dual with Western New York Athletic Conference rival Jamestown Community College.
