NCCC takes second place at National Duals

Niagara County Community College finished 3-1 overall and took second place in the NJCAA division at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville this past Friday. The Thunderwolves, who were making their season debut, had four grapplers win at least three matches.

Niagara CCC 28, Jamestown CC 19

Sophomore Frankie Gissendaner earned a pin at 157 pounds, while freshman Anthony Kuhn won via major decision at 125 as the T-Wolves knocked off their conference rivals.

Niagara CCC 32. Garrett College 18

Freshmen Zach Ash (141) and Warren McDougald (184) picked up victories by pinfall for N-Trip. Gissendaner and Kuhn were winners by major decision.

Rochester CTC 29, Niagara CCC 20

Gissendaner earned a technical fall as the Thunderwolves fell to the defending non-scholarship National Champions.

Niagara CCC 36, Joliet JC 18

NCCC got pins and six points apiece from Gissendaner and the freshman tandem of Justin McDougald (184) and Ameer Ladd (285).

The T-Wolves return to the mat Jan. 21 when they visit SUNY Cortland for a pair of duals.
