NCCC swept by Jayhawks

Niagara County Community College was swept in three games by Western New York Athletic Conference rival Jamestown Community College on Tuesday night.

The scores were 25-19, 25-12 and 25-16 in favor of the host Jayhawks, who improved to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in WNYAC play. NCCC, meanwhile, dropped to 2-9, 0-2.

Despite the loss, sophomore Gianna Smalley continued her strong play, finishing with a team-high seven kills.

Classmate Marissa Dusza added five kills, while second-year setter Kaitlin Hoadley had 15 assists.

Emma McCarthy had 11 kills to lead JCC.

The Thunderwolves return to action at 10 a.m. Saturday when they host a series of Region III pod matches. Opponents include Corning Community College and SUNY Broome.
