Niagara County Community College went 1-2 at this past weekend's season-ending Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Erie Community College. The Thunderwolves knocked off playoff-bound Monroe Community College to finish the year 5-16 overall.
Niagara CCC 25-20-15, Monroe CC 23-25-10
Sophomore Alexia Bleuer had eight kills and classmate Marissa Dusza added seven kills in the Thunderwolves' victory. Second-year libero Jocelyn Swierski had 20 digs, sophomore setter Kaitlin Hoadley finished with four kills and 19 assists and sophomore Noor Kadhum chipped in with seven digs.
Erie CC 25-25, Niagara CCC 20-15
Swierski had a team-best eight digs in the setback. Bleuer added two service aces and Hoadley had four assists.
Jamestown CC 25-25, Niagara CCC 18-10
Bleuer's five kills and five digs led NCCC in the loss. Hoadley had 12 assists and freshman Maris Parmelee finished with three kills and two aces.
