NCCC has season end in regional title game

Niagara County Community College saw its season come to an end during this past weekend's Region III Division III Championships at Little Falls Veteran's Memorial Park. The Thunderwolves finished the year with an overall record of 40-7. After this weekend's tournament, sophomore pitcher Cameron Voss and freshmen outfielders Garrett Boldt and Matt Kruszka were named to the All-Tournament team.

Niagara CCC 11, Hudson Valley CC 10 (11 inn.)

Boldt brought in the game-tying run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly and then won it in the 11th inning with an RBI single. Sophomore Joe Kruszka tossed 3.2 innings with seven strikeouts out of the bullpen.

Herkimer College 11, Niagara CCC 3

The Thunderwolves were done in by eight unearned runs.

Niagara CCC 7, Hudson Valley CC 1

Voss came within one strike of his third no-hitter in a Thunderwolves uniform. The southpaw allowed just one hit and struck out 20 batters.

Niagara CCC 5, Herkimer College 3

Freshman Keegan Ernest had five strikeouts over 7.2 innings to keep the T-Wolves alive and force the "if necessary" game. Joe Kruszka threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to secure the win.

Herkimer College 13, Niagara CCC 5

NCCC left the bases loaded three times in the season-ending setback.
