NCCC starts second semester with win

Niagara County Community College opened up the second semester with an 86-55 non-conference win over host Columbia-Greene CC on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 13-1 on the season.

Sophomore point guard Alliyah Gillespie had a game-high 22 points, six assists and six rebounds for NCCC, which used a 15-3 run at the beginning of the fourth quarter to pull away. Freshmen centers Alexis Brown and Diamond Fedrick combined for 27 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Courtney Kaczor added 14 points on 4-of-4 shooting. 

Next up for NCCC is a home date with the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. Tip is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
