NCCC takes a pair from Bobcats

Niagara County Community College made the long trek to Schenectady's Central Park and came back with a pair of non-conference wins over host Bryant & Stratton College (Albany) on Tuesday. The Thunderwolves are now 10-6 overall, while the USCAA-affiliated Bobcats fell to 4-20. NCCC returns to the diamond at 1 p.m. Saturday for a doubleheader vs. the Niagara Junior Thunderwolves' Showcase team.

The visiting T-Wolves plated seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to complete a big comeback. Freshman Will Jackman earned the win with four innings of solid relief, while sophomore Mat Carden got the save.

Freshman Zach Evans was 3-for-3 with a home run to lead NCCC. Sophomore Scottie O'Bryan finished 3-for-4 with an RBI double and freshman hurler Troy Leibert got his first career win as he allowed five hits and struck out four in five innings of work.
