Peterson wins NJCAA Pitcher of the Year honors

Niagara County Community College sophomore Ryan Peterson was named 2021 NJCAA Baseball Division III Pitcher of the Year on Monday. He is the first player in program history to earn the honor, which is presented by the Marines. 

The southpaw was tops in the country with 10 wins, seven complete games, 74 innings pitched and 73 strikeouts. He was second with a 1.22 ERA as NCCC advanced to the NJCAA Division III World Series for the first time since 2017. The Thunderwolves finished as runners-up for the third time in school history (2012 & 2017).

Othere honors the George Mason signee earned this past season included: NJCAA Division III first-team All-American, Region III Division III first team, Western New York Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Western New York Athletic Conference first team.
