T-Wolves sweep season series from Hornets

Niagara County Community College took two more games from Region III rival SUNY Broome to sweep the season series from the host Hornets on Tuesday afternoon. The nationally-ranked Thunderwolves improved to 23-7 overall and 8-2 in Western Division play.

Freshman Ryan Birchard allowed just one hit and struck out eight in four innings on the mound. At the plate, freshman Trent Wasserman went 3-for-4 with a triple, double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Also for N-Trip, freshman Vincent Stutz was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored, classmate Carter Arbuthnot went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and sophomore Vincent Cenname clubbed a two-run home run.

Niagara CCC 13, SUNY Broome 2

Freshman Owen Stevenson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead the potent NCCC offense. Classmate Alex Minnehan also doubled twice and had three RBIs, freshman Will Markott added two RBIs and fellow frosh Mitch Holtz scored three runs.
