Boyle is President's Cup recipient

The President's Cup is the most distinguished award in SUNY Niagara intercollegiate athletics. The annual honor is bestowed upon a sophomore who has been enrolled at SUNY Niagara for at least (3) full-time semesters and completed 45 hours or more with a 3.0 GPA. The scholar athlete must have been a vital member of the team(s) he or she competed on for two full seasons of competition.

The 2025 SUNY Niagara President's Cup recipient is sophomore baseball standout Gavyn Boyle. The Gasport native has led the Thunderwolves to an unbeaten 49-0 record, a Region III championship and a No. 2 ranking in the NJCAA Div. III poll this spring. SUNY Niagara is the top seed heading into this week's NJCAA Div. III World Series.

Boyle is one of the team's most potent hitters, accumulating 54 total hits with a .397 batting average and .517 on-base percentage. The outfielder currently leads the ballclub with 34 extra-base hits, 17 doubles, 10 home runs and a .846 slugging percentage. He is second on the squad with 54 runs batted in and 64 runs scored.

Boyle was recently selected to the All-Region first team. He also picked up Tournament MVP honors at this past weekend's Region III Championships.

Boyle earned several honors after a stellar freshman campaign, including an NJCAA Div. III second-team All-American distinction. He was also a member of the All-Region and All-Conference first team. In addition, he was an Academic All-Region and All-Conference choice.

Boyle currently holds a 3.67 GPA and graduated this past Saturday with an associate's degree in business administration and a certificate in business management. He plans to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Southern Indiana, an NCAA Div. I school in Evansville, Ind.
