Thunderwolves remain unbeaten

SUNY Niagara remained perfect on the year with a Region III sweep of host Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 37-0 overall and 19-0 in regional play.

The T-Wolves are back home at 2 p.m. Thursday for a twinbill vs. Onondaga Community College. 

SUNY Niagara 13, Finger Lakes CC 1

Sophomore Aidan Paul threw six shutout innings to improve to 6-0 on the mound. Paul allowed just two hits and struck out 13 batters. Classmate Braden Hill was 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored, freshman Cooper Rossano had two triples, five RBIs and scored twice and sophomore Nigel Sebastianelli clubbed a two-run home run. Also for the Wolves, freshman Dalton Harper had two hits and two RBIs, sophomore Weston Thompson added two hits and two runs, freshman Mike Schaefer went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and sophomore Gavyn Boyle scored three runs.

SUNY Niagara 7, Finger Lakes CC 2

Sophomore Nolan Feidt moved to 4-0 on the bump as he gave up just two hits and struck out seven in five innings of work. Classmate Sean Duffy tossed two hitless innings to earn his first save of the season. Rossano led the offense with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Thompson had two RBIs, Sebastianelli hit a triple and Boyle scored two runs.
