SUNY Niagara icers win season opener

SUNY Niagara kicked off the 2024-25 club hockey season with a dominant 8-3 non-division win over UNYCHL start-up Jamestown Community College on Saturday night at Northwest Arena. The Thunderwolves are 1-0 on the young season, while the Jayhawks slipped to 1-1.

The boys in white and royal got a balanced effort with eight different goal scorers: Nick Simon, Jason Cerrillo, Trevor Lock, Ryan Haynes, Anthony Miller, Tucker Schoen, Josh Kaczor and Dylan Denning. Sophomore Andrew Vaeth was named Player of the Game via the coaching staff. Additional stats are forthcoming.

The T-Wolves return to action at 7 p.m. Saturday when they host St. John Fisher for their home opener at Hyde Park.
