NCCC wins back-to-back events

Niagara County Community College continued its strong play with two more invitational victories this past weekend. The Thunderwolves now have five tournament titles to their credit this spring. Next up is the final weekend of the Region III regular season - Jamestown CC (Friday), Niagara CCC (Saturday) and Genesee CC (Sunday).

SUNY Adirondack Invitational

Sophomore Ben Kolbe and freshman Carl Graff each shot 77 - the top scores among NJCAA participants at the par-72 Hiland Park Country Club. NCCC finished with 321 total strokes - 16 better than NCAA Div. III Northern Vermont University. Also for the Thunderwolves, sophomore Hogan Lang tied for eighth with an 80.

Hudson Valley CC Invitational

The T-Wolves (328) were five strokes better than the host Vikings (333) at the par-71 Frear Park Golf Club. Kolbe finished in a tie for fourth with a 79, while sophomore Rich O'Connell had an 82 to tie for eighth. Hogan Lang added an 83 and freshmen Carl Graff and Murphy Lang each shot 84.

* Freshman Emily Neidrauer was women's medalist at the Hudson Valley tourney with a 104. She was runner-up at SUNY Adirondack with a 105.
