SUNY Niagara wins Panther Invite

SUNY Niagara kicked off the spring season with a team victory Friday afternoon at the annual Panther Invitational hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Par-71 Elm Tree Golf Club. The Thunderwolves finished with 309 total strokes, which was 12 better than runner-up Jefferson Community College.

Freshman Eliel Rodriguez was the male medalist, finishing with a three-over par 74. Classmate Ryan Kates was second with a 76. Other top scorers for the T-Wolves were: freshman Teddy Swiech (79) and freshman Adam Firkins (80).

Saturday's tournament hosted by Onondaga Community College was washed out and re-scheduled for Sun. May 5. SUNY Niagara returns to action this coming weekend for a trio of regional tournaments.
