Niagara County Community College saw its 16-game win streak snapped during this past weekend's non-conference trip to the New York City area. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 19-3 overall.
Niagara CCC 75, Nassau CC 69
Sophomore Jamal Pollydore had 18 points to lift NCCC to the come-from-behind victory. The visitors out-scored Nassau by 10 in the second half. Freshman Donel Cathcart had 13 points and five boards, while classmate Randy Corporan finished with 11 points (9-of-10 free throws) and five assists.
Monroe College 81, Niagara CCC 60
Pollydore and Corporan combined for 22 points in the road loss to the Div. I junior college. The T-Wolves were out-rebounded 46-28 in defeat.
Next up for NCCC is a home WNYAC contest against Genesee CC. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
