NCCC hoopers suffer first setback

Niagara County Community College suffered its first setback of the season, losing 90-78 at NJCAA Division I Allegany College of Maryland on Sunday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, who were plagued by 23 turnovers, fell to 6-1 overall. The Trojans, meanwhile, improved to 6-3. 

Freshman Jamond Jones led NCCC with a team-high 18 points, including five made 3-pointers. Sophomore Kailee White added 14 points and seven rebounds, while the freshman duo of Justin Hendrick (11 points) and Allen Fordham (10 points) continued their strong starts to the season.

Jason Newman had a game-high 22 points and eight assists for Allegany.

The T-Wolves return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday when they host Region III foe Jamestown Community College.
