NCCC drops road game at Cecil

Niagara County Community College battled back from a 15-point first-half deficit to take a brief second-half lead before ultimately falling to host Cecil College, 79-70, on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 10 Thunderwolves are now 9-3 overall, while the Seahawks - who were reciving votes in the last national poll - improved to 7-1.

NCCC freshman LaMarqus Merchant Jr. had a strong outing as he finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Classmate Allen Fordham added 14 points and five boards and freshman Lamar Lovelace scored 11 points.

Darell Johnson had 15 points to lead Cecil.

The T-Wolves return home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for a non-conference game vs. Finger Lakes CC.
