NCCC will be East District B rep at Nationals

Following a runner-up finish at this past weekend's District Tournament, Niagara County Community College will be the East District B representative at next week's NJCAA Division II Tournament in Danville, Illinois. The Thunderwolves (26-7) will be making their third Nationals appearance in the past six seasons (2016-17 & 2018-19). Seedings, matchups and game times will be announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

SUNY Sullivan 87, Niagara CCC 76

The T-Wolves fell behind by nine at the half and despite a valiant second-half comeback could not overcome the size of Sullivan's frontline. The Generals held a sizable 52-35 edge on the glass. 

NCCC freshman Lamar Lovelace had a team-high 17 points in the loss. Classmate LaMarqus Merchant Jr. added 11 points, six assists and six rebounds and true freshman Aaron Miller chipped in with 11 points and eight boards.

Niagara CCC 87, Delaware Tech 73

N-Trip dished out 22 assists as it clinched a berth in the National Tourney with the semifinal victory. Freshman guard Justin Hendrick led the way with 25 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.

Also for the Thunderwolves, Lovelace finished with 16 points and seven helpers and Miller notched a double-double - 14 points and 11 rebounds.
