Niagara County Community College dropped a narrow 89-83 decision to visiting Lakeland Community College in a battle of ranked teams on Thursday afternoon.
The No. 12 Thunderwolves fell to 13-4 overall, while the No. 5 Lakers improved to 9-0.
NCCC freshman Justin Hendrick led the team in scoring with 20 points, while classmate Lamar Lovelace netted 15 and freshman Jamond Jones added 14.
Freshman Taylor Sanders scored 13 points off the bench and fellow frosh LaMarqus Merchant Jr. had a team-best 12 rebounds and six assists.
Jaidon Lipscomb had 21 points to lead Lakeland CC, which shot 54 percent from the field.
N-Trip returns to action at Noon Tuesday when Mohawk Valley Community College visits the Sanborn campus.
