Niagara County Community College earned a hard-fought 80-74 home win vs. Monroe Community College in Western New York Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night.
The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 13 in the most recent NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 19-4 overall and 4-0 in WNYAC play. MCC, meanwhile, dropped to 5-13, 1-3.
NCCC freshman Justin Hendrick canned five 3-pointers on his way to a 25-point, eight-rebound and five-assist outing. The T-Wolves assisted on 17 of their 28 buckets in the win.
Also for N-Trip, freshman Taylor Sanders netted 13 points and classmate LaMarqus Merchant Jr. added 11 points, seven boards and four assists.
Ishmael Smith had 18 points to lead the Tribunes.
NCCC returns to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when it travels to WNYAC foe Jamestown Community College.
