Niagara County Community College opened the 2023-24 men's basketball season with an 89-83 non-conference victory over visiting Genesee Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA Div. II preseason poll, are 1-0 heading into Sunday's home tilt vs. Bryant & Stratton College-Ohio.
NCCC freshmen Jimmie Green and Bobby Beilein led a parade of six players in double figures with 14 points apiece. Meanwhile, sophomore Julian Cunningham stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Also for N-Trip, freshman Navary Sandy had 10 points and six boards, freshman Jamyier Patton contributed 10 points, four rebounds and four assists and fellow frosh Jalen Duff added 10 points and three steals off the bench.
