NCCC splits games at Tip-Off Classic

Niagara County Community College split a pair of games at this past weekend's annual NCCC Tip-Off Classic. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, moved to 5-3 on the season. Next up is a road date at Cuyahoga Community College. Tip is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday.

No. 7 Henry Ford College 93, No. 11 Niagara CCC 90

NCCC sophomore Julian Cunningham had 21 points, three assists and three rebounds, but it wasn't enough in a back-and-forth affair between ranked teams. Also for N-Trip, freshman Jamyier Patton netted 15 points, classmate Cam Dyer added 12 points and four boards and freshman Jalen Duff chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

No. 11 Niagara CCC 95, Lackawanna College 87

Cunningham finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists as the T-Wolves canned 14 3-pointers in the victory. Also for NCCC, Duff had 15 points, three rebounds and three steals, sophomore Finn Mohl contributed 10 points and Patton scored 10.
