Prior to Niagara, Brown spent three seasons as an assistant coach at LIU-Post. During his time at LIU-Post, the Pioneers compiled a 62–25 record, won two East Coast Conference Championships and twice advanced to the NCAA Div. II tournament.

Brown came to LIU Post after spending two years at St. John’s University as a graduate assistant. He was responsible for creating student-athlete handbooks and assisting with the NCAA Div. I soccer committee.

His other coaching experiences includes a one-year stint at Morris Catholic High School in Denville, N.J. and with the Hoop Heaven Heat AAU program. Brown was a student-athlete on the football field at St. John's in 2002 where he started as a freshman. The program was discontinued the following year.

Brown is currently the assistant director and youth coach for the 716 United travel program in Niagara Falls. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from St. John's (B.S. in Marketing, Jan. 2007; M.P.S. in Sport Management, Sept. 2009).
