NCCC booters knock off Bobcats

Niagara County Community College kicked off the 2021 spring season with an impressive 3-2 non-conference win over host Bryant & Stratton College (Albany) on Saturday afternoon at Afrim's Sports Park in Colonie. The Thunderwolves are 1-0 overall, while the USCAA-affiliated Bobcats fell to 0-2.

NCCC freshman Taivier Stewart broke a 2-2 tie in the 82nd minute with a bullet past the Bobcats' keeper. Sophomore David Reilly opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, while freshman Gourav Vasdev gave N-Trip a 2-1 lead just before intermission. Fellow first-year player Fritz Summer had two assists in the victory, while freshman Lucas Schiel made seven key saves between the pipes.

Dylan Ferguson scored both goals for BSC Albany.

The Thunderwolves return to the field at 3 p.m. Friday for an exhibition against NCAA Div. III Hilbert College. The game will be played at Sahlen's Sports Park in Elma.
