NCCC cancels final game; finishes above .500

Niagara County Community College canceled its final game of the shortened spring regular season vs. nationally-ranked Mohawk Valley Community College due to Covid-19 contact tracing within its program. The Thunderwolves finished the season 4-2 overall - the first winning season for the program since the fall of 2006 (7-6 overall).

"It's a shame our season had to end this way, but we are very happy - collectively as a program - of the steps taken to compete at a high level," second-year NCCC coach Kennet Fosuhene said, while noting narrow one-goal losses to nationally-ranked Herkimer College (2-1) and Cayuga Community College (3-2, 2OT).

"Every day the boys came ready to work, trained hard and paid attention to details," Fosuhene added. "It has been a pleasure working with these boys and having the chance to watch both individual and team growth. The coaching staff and players are excited about the direction within the program, but also realize the need for continuous improvement."

NCCC will return to the pitch in early August as it prepares for a more traditional fall season.
