NCCC knocks off Villa Maria

Niagara County Community College wrapped up the home portion of its regular-season schedule with a 5-2 non-region win vs. local USCAA opponent Villa Maria College on Wednesday afternoon.

NCCC improved to 6-5 overall, while the Vikings dropped to 0-11-1.

N-Trip freshman Jay Yule netted a season-high four goals in the victory. Yule now has a team-best 15 goals on the year. Yule also earned an assist on classmate Ruben Joao Baptista's goal.

Singles assists were credited to sophomore Will Quarentello and the freshman trio of Mike Martinez, A.J. McMillan and Alex Sanchez.

Freshman goalkeeper Lucas Schiel made 11 saves between the pipes to earn the win.

The Thunderwolves close out the regular season at 2 p.m. Sunday when they visit NJCAA Div. I Monroe Community College in a Western New York Athletic Conference matchup.
