N-Trip booters drop third straight contest

Niagara County Community College fell to visiting SUNY Broome, 3-0, in Region III action under hot and humid conditions on Wednesday afternoon. It was the third consecutive regional loss for the Thunderwolves (0-3-1 overall, 0-3-0 Region III).

The teams were fairly matched throughout with the Hornets holding a slim 12-10 edge in shots. The difference, though, was that Broome put away its best scoring chances while the T-Wolves could not sneak one by goalkeeper Dean Patterson.

NCCC freshman goalie Landan Rees made nine saves, while classmate Sunday Munguikonasi again led the squad with three shots on goal.

The T-Wolves return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday when they host Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
