NCCC nips Bengals for first victory

Niagara County Community College knocked off visiting Buffalo State University JV, 1-0, to earn its first victory of the season on Monday afternoon. The Thunderwolves improved to 2-12-1 overall with their other win coming via forfeit.

The non-conference matchup was scoreless through the first 47 minutes before NCCC midfielder Augustine Bonane found the back of the net for the game's only goal. The unassisted tally was the sophomore's first of the season.

N-Trip freshman goalkeeper Eric Garcia needed just two saves to pick up his first career shutout. Teammates Jacob Korte, Austin Osetkowski and Kyren Johnson were strong on the backline throughout.

The T-Wolves close out the 2023 regular season at 4 p.m. Wednesday when they visit perennial NJCAA power Genesee Community College.
