Solomon Bonane finally got into the scoring column, but it wasn't enough as visiting Niagara County Community College dropped a narrow 2-1 non-conference contest to Roberts Wesleyan University's JV squad under the lights on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves dropped to 0-11-1 on the season.
Bonane, a sophomore midfielder, scored an unassisted goal in the game's 17th minute to knot the score at 1-1. Bonane leads the T-Wolves with 17 shots this season, but this was the first to reach the back of the net.
The Redhawks scored the game winner early in the second half of a contest that featured two strong and physical defensive teams. NCCC freshman goalkeeper Eric Garcia finished with five saves between the pipes.
N-Trip returns to Region III action at 5 p.m. Wed. Oct. 11 when it travels to Finger Lakes Community College.
