Niagara County Community College banged out 30 hits on its way to a sweep of visiting Erie Community College on Monday. The Thunderwolves are now 3-1 in regional play, while the Kats fell to 0-2. NCCC returns to the diamond at 1 p.m. Sunday when it hosts Monroe College-Bronx for a non-conference doubleheader.
Niagara CCC 9, Erie CC 4
Freshman Lydia Serrano tossed a complete-game, six-hitter with six Ks. Serrano was 2-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate. Fellow first-year player Makayla Montes was also 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Freshman Morgan Allis ripped a two-run triple and classmate Olivia Smith was 3-for-3 in her season debut.
Niagara CCC 17, Erie CC 16
The T-Wolves scored six runs in the top of seventh inning to out-last ECC. Freshman Jordan Dixon was 4-for-6 with a double, triple and three RBIs, Montes went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and two RBIs and Serrano finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Also for N-Trip, Allis clubbed a three-run triple and Smith added four RBIs.
