T-Wolves fall in regional semifinals

Niagara County Community College had its season come to an end after dropping a pair of games to visiting Jefferson Community College in the Region III Div. III District B semifinals on Sunday. The Thunderwolves finished the season with an 11-7 record, while the Cannoneers improved to 20-10.

Jefferson CC 12, Niagara CCC 6 (8 inn.)

The Thunderwolves tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh, but gave up eight runs in the top of the eighth. Freshman Makayla Montes was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and classmate Lydia Serrano ripped a solo home run in the loss. 

Jefferson CC 16, Niagara CCC 8 (5 inn.)

Freshman Jordan Dixon was 2-for-3 with two RBIs as NCCC could never recover from a 6-0 first-inning deficit. Montes was 2-for-3 with an RBI and both Morgan Allis and Ashley Hill had two-run singles in the setback.
