Niagara County Community College split a pair of Region III games at Monroe Community College on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are 1-1 in the newly-formed Region III Western Division. Sunday's twinbill was washed out due to rain and will be re-scheduled for a later date. The next doubleheader slated for the T-Wolves is 3 p.m. Mon. April 5 vs. rival Erie Community College.
Niagara CCC 15, Monroe CC 6 (5 inn.)
Freshman Lydia Serrano was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in the victory. Serrano was also the winning pitcher, tossing four innings of four-hit ball. Fellow first-year players Ashley Hill and Jordan Dixon each had three hits and three RBIs as NCCC banged out 14 hits.
Monroe CC 18, Niagara CCC 9
Freshman Makayla Montes had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored, but the Thunderwolves could not overcome a key injury and squandered an 8-3 lead. Hill had three hits for the second straight game.
