SUNY Niagara drops twinbill to MCC

Visiting SUNY Niagara dropped a pair of Region III contests to Western New York Athletic Conference rival Monroe Community College on Tuesday. The Thunderwolves, who have been battling weather issues all spring, are now 0-4 both overall and in regional play. SUNY Niagara returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when its hosts Onondaga Community College.

Monroe CC 18, SUNY Niagara 0 (5 inn.)

The T-Wolves allowed 11 runs in the first inning and could not recover. Freshman Camryn Smith reached base twice and had the team's lone hit. Freshman pitcher Julianna Miller was solid in relief.

Monroe CC 12, SUNY Niagara 0 (5 inn.)

The Thunderwolves trailed just 4-0 until the fourth frame where a handful of errors did them in. Smith again had the only hit, while classmate Saige Friedl had a solid outing in the circle.
