Emborsky named POY; six T-Wolves earn All-Region

Niagara County Community College had six players recently receive Region III Division II accolades. Sophomores Paige Emborsky and Cierra Harrison were named to the first team, classmates Aubrey Halloran and Nickelle O'Neil along with freshman Alaina Forbes were second-team picks and second-year player Molly Mahony was a third-team choice. Those half dozen have helped NCCC to a 30-1 record and a second consecutive berth in the NJCAA Div. II Tournament. 

Emborsky picked up Player of the Year honors on top of her first-team selection. The Abilene Christian signee led the team with 15.5 points per game. She currently has 1,011 career points, which is second in school history (1,029, Michelle Milleville-Lyman). Emborsky also had impressive shooting statistics, netting 50 percent of her field goals, 51 percent of her 3-pointers and 86 percent of her free throws. 

Harrison, meanwhile, averaged 15.2 points per game on 49 percent shooting. The 43-percent 3-point sniper stuffed the stat sheet with 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per night.

Halloran led the team in blocked shots with 2.4 per game. She also averaged 12.2 points (47%), 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.0 assists per contest.

O'Neil was tops in both assists (5.5) and steals (4.5) for the T-Wolves. She also averaged 9.1 points (49%) and 4.2 rebounds per outing.

Forbes finished third in scoring (13.2) without starting a game. The 48-percent shooter also averaged 2.8 boards, 2.1 steals and 2.0 assists per game. 

Mahony, the team's defensive stopper, led NCCC with 7.9 rebounds a game. She added 7.7 points (47%), 2.2 steals and 1.9 assists per tilt.
