NCCC races past visiting Cougars

Niagara County Community College built up a 32-point halftime lead en route to a 101-57 win over visiting Genesee Community College in Region III play on Saturday afternoon. The No. 13 Thunderwolves are now 22-1 overall and 3-0 in regional play.

Sophomore guard Cierra Harrison led another balanced effort, finishing with 21 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Alaina Forbes scored 20 off the bench, while sophomore guard Paige Emborsky netted five 3-pointers on her way to 19 points and sophomore forward Aubrey Halloran added 14 points and five boards. NCCC shot 50 percent from the field, 54 percent from 3, 94 percent from the foul line and had 26 assists on 36 made field goals. 

Next up for the Thunderwolves is a trip to rival Erie Community College for a 5:30 p.m. tip on Wednesday.
